Hurricane Ida weakens

Hurricane Ida weakens    The National Hurricane Center said Hurricane Ida was continuing to weaken as it moves across the Gulf of Mexico, but a hurricane warning remained in effect for the Gulf Coast from Pascagoula, Miss. eastward to Indian Pass, Fla., as of 6 a.m.
A hurricane warning means hurricane conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within 24 hours and a dangerous storm surge will raise water levels by as much as 4 to 6 feet above ground level along the coast near and to the east of where the center of the storm makes landfall.
A tropical storm warning and a hurricane watch remain in effect as far west as Grand Isle Louisiana including New Orleans and Lake Pontchartrain and as far east as Aucilla River in Florida.
