Hyundai ship damaged in Panama Canal
APL said a Hyundai ship on which it shares space was damaged over the weekend while transiting the Panama Canal.
According to a news release on the APL Web site, the 'Hyundai Garnet' on Sunday, “experienced a steering malfunction while transiting the Panama Canal under pilotage. The vessel incurred minor damage and is undergoing repairs, which are currently estimated to take around five days to complete.”
APL said the revised departure date from the port of Manzanillo is Sept. 2 and the vessel is expected to arrive in New York on Sept. 7.
