IAG Cargo boosts Latin American presence

   Starting Sep. 1, IAG Cargo will add service to Montevideo, Uruguay, and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic from Madrid using Iberia A330 and A340-300 planes.
   Officials are anticipating up to 12.7 tons of cargo capacity to Santo Domingo and 11.7 tons of space on the Montevideo flights. The routing to Santo Domingo will be offered five times each week, with Montevideo services occurring on a four-times-a-week basis.
   Rodrigo Casal, IAG Cargo’s vice president for Latin America, said perishable suppliers looking to boost trade between Latin America and Asia or Europe will take particular advantage of the new flights.
   “One of IAG Cargo’s key differentiators is our ability to connect global businesses with key markets in Latin America. These new routes will build on this strength and provide important trade connections that will help support global economic growth,” he said in a statement.
