IAG Cargo will begin direct, 787 Dreamliner service five times a week between London Heathrow and Austin, Texas, in March 2014.
In May, IAG will commence a daily offering.
With the flights, officials expect to tap into Austin’s growing high-tech trade. The service will also benefit shippers transporting goods from Mexico to global markets.
“Today’s announcement underlines the fact that IAG Cargo is being more competitive than ever and really focusing on delivering the shipping options our customers require,” IAG Cargo’s David Shepherd said in a statement. “This additional route into Texas builds on IAG Cargo’s extensive list of destinations that connect Europe and the USA to the rest of the world.” – Jon Ross
