Icelandair orders two Boeing 787 Dreamliner planes

   Reykjav'k-based Icelandair has ordered two 787 Dreamliner airplanes from Boeing worth $240 million at list prices.

   The two aircraft will be delivered during 2010. Icelandair is evaluating two engine options, the General Electric GE Next Generation and Rolls-Royce’s Trent 1000.

   Icelandair, one of 13 subsidiaries within the Flugleidir Icelandair Group, currently operates 19 Boeing 757s and 767s for its scheduled service and Icelandair Group charter and cargo businesses.
