Icelandair starts Seattle service

Icelandair said Wednesday it would launch a scheduled service between Seattle and Reykjavik starting July 22.

The service will offer four flights a week, with connections to Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm and London. The service will provide transit times from Seattle to Scandinavia up to four hours faster than through other European hubs, the airline said.

Icelandair will also cooperate with Alaska Airlines on connections to U.S. West Coast cities, including San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Anchorage and San Jose.

The airline also flies direct to Boston and New York-JFK, with seasonal services to Minneapolis-St. Paul (seasonal), Orlando Sanford (seasonal), Halifax (seasonal) and Toronto (seasonal).
