IJS Global acquires MAP Global Logistics

IJS Global acquires MAP Global Logistics    New York-based forwarding company IJS Global Inc. has acquired Philippine air and ocean freight forwarder MAP Global Logistics Inc. for an undisclosed sum.
   Effective Jan. 1, MAP, located in Paranaque City, will change its name to IJS Global Philippines Inc. IJS Global has retained all of MAP’s employees.
   “MAP’s experienced management in the Philippines and its balanced strength in air and ocean coverage will enable us to meet a wider set of customer needs and provide us with a significantly greater opportunity to expand into new markets,” said John Gallahan, IJS Global’s president and chief executive officer. “We will continue to broaden our Asian presence through internal growth and strategic acquisitions of companies with solid management, proven business models, strong product niches and loyal customer bases,” he added.
   In July, IJS Global changed its name from Inter-Jet Systems Inc.
