IMO to hold piracy, security seminar for Suez region countries

IMO to hold piracy, security seminar for Suez region countries    The International Maritime Organization has invited countries bordering the key shipping route through the Suez Canal to a seminar on maritime security and piracy prevention.
   The five-day seminar will be held in Aden, Yemen, in April. The IMO is inviting senior officials from the maritime and port authorities of Djibouti, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Jordan, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan and the host country Yemen.
   The seminar will be split into three subject-specific sections: piracy and armed robbery, maritime security, and legal matters. Speaking at the event will be lecturers from the IMO secretariat, specialist external consultant speakers and a representative from the United Nations Office for Drugs and Crime.
