Indonesian businessman to build shipyard
Indonesian shipping entrepreneur Oentoro Surya plans to build a $230 million shipyard and heavy equipment factory in Batam, Indonesia, just south of Singapore.
Antara, the Indonesian National News Agency, reported that about 30 percent of the new yard's capacity for maintenance of ships for Surya's own company.
Surya is president and director of Arpeni Pratama Ocean Line, a company that he founded, which now has a fleet of about 50 vessels.
