Industry veterans start 3PL Three logistics industry veterans have launched Circumference America Inc. (CAI), a non-asset-based transportation holding company with operating subsidiaries that focuses on truckload, less-than-truckload, expedited and intermodal transportation services.
   For intermodal and spot market door-to-door transportation, CAI executives have created Radius Rail Inc., a provider of full-service intermodal (truck-rail-truck) transportation to freight brokers and shippers throughout the continental 48 states, Canada and Mexico.
   For truckload and less-than-truckload services, CAI is a certified agent for Sunteck Transport Group, and also operates Vertex Transport, which specializes in the expedited truckload market, focusing on traffic lanes and commodities where truck capacity is in short order and the time to move shipments is highly compressed.
   The industry veterans behind the launch of Jacksonville, Fla.-based CAI and its operating companies are Mike Steele, president and chief executive officer; Jesse Martinez, chief operating officer; and Nicole Steele, vice president and chief financial officer. They have 25 years of combined experience in the third-party logistics marketplace. All have worked for the company VEXURE Inc. and its subsidiary Stonier Transportation Group.
