Intelleflex, DeltaTRAK partner on monitoring

   Intelleflex and DeltaTRAK have announced a partnership to broaden the use of Intelleflex’s RFID-based readers and data services as well as DeltaTRAK’s line of environmental monitoring products.
   Intelleflex, whose on-demand data visibility services are largely used to monitor the freshness of perishable foods and pharmaceuticals, said the partnership will expand DeltaTRAK’s cold chain solutions to its RFID tags. The Intelleflex XC3 Technology-based tags and readers will also be offered under the DeltaTRAK brand.
   The XC3 tags and readers provide on-demand data visibility for cargo tracking and monitoring, predominantly used for temperature monitoring, allowing information to be collected without the need of unloading pallets or opening containers.
   According to the companies, each year more than $35 billion worth of food is lost due to waste in the supply chain, half of which is attributed to temperature issues. For the pharmaceutical supply chain, it is estimated that $5.4 billion in losses are due to related issues.
