INTER-AMERICAN FREIGHT CONFERENCE IS DISSOLVED

   The ocean carrier members of the Inter-American Freight
Conference have dissolved the conference.
    The pricing agreement, which covered the trade between the U.S. and the
East Coast of South America, ceased operations on July 1, a conference official said.
    The members of the agreement were Alianca/Columbus, Compania Sud
Americana de Vapores/Libra/Euroatlantic Container Line, APL, Crowley American Transport,
Lykes Lines, Transportacion Maritima Mexicana and Frota Amazonica e Oceania.
    The embattled inter-American conference had lost several members,
including Sea-Land Service, Maersk Line and CMA-CGM, prior to its termination
