Inter-Jet buys A. Burghart Shipping assets

Inter-Jet buys A. Burghart Shipping assets    New York-based logistics company Inter-Jet Systems Inc., has acquired certain assets of A. Burghart Shipping Co. Inc., a Springfield, N.J.-based customs broker and ocean freight forwarder, for an undisclosed amount.
   Under terms of the deal, James Burghart, former chief executive officer of A. Burghart Shipping, has joined Inter-Jet as its business development manager and will run its New Jersey office.
   Inter-Jet said the acquisition will strengthen its capabilities in the ocean freight and customs brokerage segments as well as giving it a presence in the New Jersey area. After the deal Inter-Jet now has offices in New York, Springfield, N.J., Los Angeles, Atlanta and Miami.
   Inter-Jet was acquired in January by private equity fund Brynwood Partners V L.P.
