Intermarine announces Europe service    Intermarine has begun offering a heavy lift service between Europe and the East Coast of South America.
   The service will use 10,000-deadweight-ton vessels with gear capacity of up to 500 metric tons.
   The New Orleans-headquartered carrier said the service will be “perfectly suited to meet the needs of South America's oil and gas, power generation, mining and infrastructure development projects.” The ships, it noted, do not have traverse bulkheads and so are well suited for wind energy component movements to Europe, able to carry underdeck components up to 74.7 meters long.
   This new service is represented in Europe by two offices — Intermarine B.V. in Zeist, Holland under the direction of Tjeerd Veldhuizen; and Industrial Maritime Chartering GmbH in Hamburg, Germany, under the direction of Thomas Cord.
   The offices will be staffed with 20 representatives with experience in sales, chartering, logistics, technical and documentation services.
   The Europe service is supported by Intermarine's worldwide offices, including its office in Buenos Aires, Argentina, under the direction of South America Commercial Representative Carlos Morino. The firm also has a network of agents in Brazil, Argentina and other East Coast South America locations selected for their expertise in heavy lift cargoes and breakbulk services.
