INTERMARINE ORDERS MORE MULTIPURPOSE SHIPS    Intermarine, the breakbulk and project cargo shipping company based in New Orleans, has ordered another two multipurpose ships, extending its series of new vessels from five to seven.
   Between June 2000 and April 2001, the first five of the seven new sisterships were delivered into Intermarine’s services, connecting the U.S. and Mexiso to the Americas and Asia . The remaining two ships will be delivered by the end of the year, Intermarine said.
   The multipurpose vessels have a deadweight of about 7,300 tons, a 16-knot service speed and two 200-metric ton electro-hydraulic cranes combinable for 400-ton lifts. The vessels have “excellent characteristics for project cargo handling,” said Roger Kavanagh, president of Intermarine. “They are rapidly becoming our new workhorse.”
