INTTRA offering performance measurement

The shipping information service INTTRA will offer service to measure service delivery performance based on carrier and shipper transactions processed on its e-commerce platform.
INTTRA said it has been offering the OceanMetrics product in a pilot program since February to some of the largest ocean carriers and more than 40 shippers and freight forwarders. It is now planning to make OceanMetrics available to the entire INTTRA network sometime in the first quarter of next year.
INTTRA said shippers and carriers will be able to measure their own performance, as well as the performance of their ocean freight partners. Sample OceanMetrics measurements will include: carrier on-time performance, carrier booking response time, booking requests declined by carriers, and shipper booking cancellations and amendments
“By providing carriers and shippers with vital performance measurements, OceanMetrics can be a catalyst for constructive industry conversations and collaboration,” said Ken Bloom, chief executive officer of INTTRA. “We believe this innovation milestone can help shippers and carriers work together to optimize supply chains and improve service delivery.”
INTTRA said more than 2 million container orders are initiated on its platform each month and that its transactional data represents more than 15 percent of global ocean container trade. So it said carriers and shippers will have access to a large-scale base of information to help manage their business and better serve their customers.
INTTRA said user licenses for OceanMetrics are being offered at no cost to carriers and initial account configuration will be offered at no cost to shippers. Initially, there will be a 50-user limit per carrier and shipper.
