INTTRA unveils new schedule site

INTTRA unveils new schedule site The shipping portal INTTRA unveiled a new Web site this weekend on which shipping lines — whether they are member of INTTRA or not — can post sailing schedules.
   The new Web site is OceanSchedules.com and is free to both companies that post schedules and shippers or other parties who are making queries.
   The site will carry ads from vessel operators, non-vessel-operating common carriers or other businesses that want to target shippers.
   In addition to the www.oceanschedules.com, the same information can be accessed from the INTTRA.com homepage, and from within INTTRA’s online transaction site, INTTRA-Act. OceanSchedules.com said it hosts 4.4 million voyage records.
   INTTRA members account for about 61 percent of the container capacity in the world, but because the new site also lists the vessel schedules of space-sharing partners of INTTRA members and non-members — such as the carrier Wan Hai — the portal figures 80 percent of container voyages can be found on the new site.
   The link allows users to click buttons to request additional information on a voyage or book cargo.
