IRISL to start new Far East/Europe service

The Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines has initiated a new Asia/Europe service, an IRISL operation and container service senior manager told Middle East news outlets Sunday.

The official, Hamzeh Keshavarz, said 11 vessels would be employed in the service, and the company's container capacity would triple after it adds six 6,500-TEU, four 4,900-TEU, and five 2,300-TEU containerships.

The new service will call ports in the Far East, Southeast Asia, the Persian Gulf, the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
