IRONBOUND INTERMODAL PICKS ETERM
Ironbound Intermodal Inc, the operator of three container yards in the Newark, N.J., and Elizabeth, N.J., port areas, has contracted with Americas Systems Inc. (ASI), a provider of data and business solutions, for a wireless tool to track container movements through inland depots.
Ironbound is using ASI’s eTERM product, an online terminal management system, to send gate transactions electronically in real-time to customers. Previously, Ironbound’s employees wrote paper receipts.
eTERM automates the creation of terminal activity reports and billing processes, and also provides EDI capabilities to eliminate fax and e-mail communications. ASI is based in Murray Hill, N.J.
