Israeli press says Zim to trim staff 10%
Israeli business newspaper Globes and the Israeli logistics Web site Port2Port are both reporting Zim Line plans to cut 70 jobs, which they said would amount to a 10 percent staff reduction in Israel.
The reports say workers over the age of 50 will be offered early retirement under a labor contract, signed between management and the workers committee, which also freezes pay increases.
Globes said Zim workers committee chairman Avi Sheetrit confirmed the report. Zim declined to comment.
