ITCO becomes part of ISO technical committee for tank container design    The International Tankcontainer Organization has been accepted into the International Organization for Standardization’s technical committee that covers intermodal freight containers, including tank containers.
   The ISO technical committee, known as TC 104, meets regularly to plan and develop standards for these types of containers.
   Brussels-based ITCO, which represents 60,000 of the 70,000 tanks in the tank leasing sector, said its participation in TC 104 helps to eliminate technical barriers to trade.
   ITCO chairman Reg Lee believes the organization’s increased participation in international forums, such as TC 104, will also encourage shippers to transport a larger percentage of their liquids in tank containers.
