ITF chief visits Germany
Carol Coune met with German Transport Minister Peter Ramsauer and State Secretary Rainer Bomba in Berlin Tuesday in her first official visit as the new head of the International Transport Forum, a Paris-based transportation think tank that operates under the aegis of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
Coune, a former Belgian transportation official who was named ITF secretary general in late May, discussed her strategic plans for the organization during the meeting, according to a news release.
Germany will host the 2012 ITF annual summit, which brings together transport ministers, business leaders, academicians and public interest groups to debate policy issues.
