ITS picks Tideworks software for Venezuelan terminal    Intershipping Terminal Services (ITS) C.A., a shipping and logistics provider in Venezuela, has deployed operations management systems from Seattle-based Tideworks Technology at ITS’s terminal in Puerto Cabello, Venezuela.
   ITS has contracted for Tideworks’ Mainsail Terminal Management System, Spinnaker Planning Management System, and Forecast, a community Web portal.
   Those applications are “helping us anticipate operations, eliminate unnecessary rehandles, increase gate performance, and reduce overall operating costs,” said Esteban Szalay, managing director of the
Intershipping Group Company.
   The project’s implementation was handled by Tideworks’ regional office in Colon, Panama. Tideworks applications have about 6,000 users at 50 terminals worldwide.
   Intershipping Terminal Services is a sister company of Intershipping Group, a family-owned Venezuelan maritime organization. ITS operates in Venezuela’s northern ports of La Guaira, Puerto Cabello and Guanta, and also offers country-wide logistics services.
