JAL downsizes cargo operations
Japan Airlines Group, which is undergoing a massive restructuring under a government-managed bankruptcy process, said Thursday it is transferring its cargo handling business at Chubu International Airport to Suzuyo & Co. Ltd.
It will also sell off major stakes in its passenger ground handling subsidiaries to Suzuyo through a stock swap.
JAL earlier this year said it will shut down its dedicated freighter fleet as part of the cost-saving effort.
