JAPANESE, HONG KONG, KOREAN SHIPPERS TO MEET

Officials and shipper representatives of the shippers’ councils of Japan, Korea and Hong Kong will meet for their annual tripartite Asian meeting in Hong Kong on May 28 and 29.

The Hong Kong Shippers’ Council, hosting the meeting, said that “the event is a long-time tradition which has served as an extremely useful forum for the exchange of ideas and the strengthening of regional cooperation among shippers.”

Also expected to attend are shipping line and carrier alliance representatives.

This year, other regional shippers’ associations will also participate in the meeting as observers. They include the Federation of ASEAN Shippers’ Councils and the Macau Shipper’s Association.

Sandra Lee, Secretary of Economic Services of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government, will open the meeting.
