Jawaharlal Nehru Port’s fourth terminal opens for business

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust’s (JNPT) fourth terminal commenced operations with last week’s berthing of CMA CGM’s Centaurus.

   Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust’s (JNPT) fourth terminal commenced operations with last week’s berthing of CMA CGM’s Centaurus, according to PSA International.
   Dubbed the Bharat Mumbai Container Terminal (BMCT), the first phase offers an annual capacity of 2.4 million TEUs and allows for three vessels to berth simultaneously. The second phase will add an additional 2.4 million TEUs of annual handling capacity.
   PSA International had won the bid back in 2014 to build and operate the terminal.
