JDA builds on visibility ecosystem

Supply chain solutions provider JDA established a new TMS integration with MacroPoint, and extended its existing TransVoyant partnership to forecasting, replenishment and manufacturing.    JDA Software on Tuesday announced two enhancements to its growing network of visibility partners.
   First, the supply chain software company said it has integrated the freight visibility provider MacroPoint’s load status data directly into its transportation management system (TMS).
   The integration allows JDA shipper customers to manage and track loads (including those moving with third parties) directly within the TMS. The MacroPoint integration builds on an existing integration JDA has with FourKites, another provider of freight visibility.
   “Integrating our patented freight visibility platform with JDA’s premier TMS confirms there is no substitution for MacroPoint’s visibility platform offering,” said Dave Halsema, executive vice president of MacroPoint.
   Fabrizio Brasca, vice president, solution strategy, intelligent fulfillment at JDA Software, said the integration provides JDA customers “MacroPoint’s real-time visibility platform and a carrier visibility network to our growing ecosystem of transportation partners.”
   In other related news, JDA is extending an existing partnership with visibility provider TransVoyant to impact its forecasting, replenishment and manufacturing solutions to help customers sync planning resources and inventory with market and supplier activity, Brasca said.
   TransVoyant, which American Shipper profiled in August, provides advanced analytics on real-time data collected from sensors, radar, smartphones, satellites, GPS, video cameras and other devices. Leveraging data such as weather, news, local events, social media and natural disaster information, TransVoyant’s system is aimed at improving demand-supply balancing, and helps organizations to avoid supply chain disruptions.
   “TransVoyant also provides very accurate predicted times of arrival factoring the impact of external events and behavior versus the highly variable carrier-provided ETAs most organizations struggle with; prescriptive recommendations for carrier, lane or route selection factoring current and predicted disruptions; and alerts tied to at-risk orders due to evolving and predicted issues with suppliers,” JDA said in a statement.
   JDA has been using TransVoyant’s visibility capabilities for the past year to boost its TMS. That partnership will now extend to JDA Demand, JDA Manufacturing Planning and JDA Fulfillment.
   “Having our two solutions tightly integrated and orchestrated translates into a true real-time, predictive, intelligent digital supply chain,” said David Panitz, executive vice president and general manager for TransVoyant.
