Judge wants additional information in Bayonne dispute A New Jersey judge has asked for additional information in a dispute between the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and a New Jersey city over who is entitled to purchase a tract of land along the Hudson River that is to be turned into a roll-on/roll-off terminal.
   State Superior Court Judge Thomas Olivieri last week said he needed additional information before ruling on a request by the Bayonne Local Redevelopment Authority to dismiss a lawsuit that the port authority has filed against the BLRA.
   Bayonne had agreed to sell the tract, part of the old Military Ocean Terminal Bayonne, to the port authority for $50.5 million last September. Bayonne later killed the deal, saying the meeting where it had been approved was improperly advertised under a New Jersey “open meetings” law, and voted to sell the property instead to Ports America which bettered the port authority’s offer, paying $90 million for the property.
   The port authority sued Bayonne, Ports America, and several other companies that made bids for the property after it had reached its original deal to buy the land.
   Bayonne attorney Jay Coffey said the authority will proceed with demolition work on the property, removing buildings built in the 1930s and 1940s, saying the land need to be prepared before a terminal can be developed, no matter who ends up with the parcel.
