“K” LINE ADDS CAPACITY, YANTIAN CALL TO PACIFIC NORTHWEST SERVICE

   Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha is increasing vessel capacity and adding a direct call at Yantian to its weekly transpacific PNW/NOWCO-A service. The service is part of the agreement with COSCO Container Lines, Yang Ming, Hanjin Shipping and Senator Lines.
   The first sailing at Yantian on the PNW service will be made on June 26. “K” Line is replacing five vessels of 2,800-TEU capacity employed in this service by five of 3,500 TEUs, adding about 36,000 TEUs in annual one-way capacity in the transpacific market.
   The revised port rotation of the PNW service will be: Yantian; Hong Kong; Kobe; Nagoya; Tokyo; Tacoma, Wash.; Vancouver, B.C.; Portland; Tokyo; Nagoya; Kobe; Yantian and Hong Kong.
