“K” LINE, YANG MING FINALIZE EAST/WEST SERVICE CHANGES

“K” Line and Yang Ming Marine have finalized numerous changes in their transpacific and Asia/Europe services, concluding a busy period of adjustments in their cooperative operations.
A new weekly U.S. West Coast/Asia/Europe/Asia/U.S. West Coast “PSW-1/AES-1” “pendulum” service replaces “K” Line’s current “PSW 1/CALCO-A” transpacific link and the Yang Ming “Asia Express” Asia/Europe loop. It uses 12 ships of 5,500 TEUs and calls at Port Kelang, Singapore, Yantian, Hong Kong, Xiamen, Long Beach, Oakland, Kobe, Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Yantian, Port Kelang, Singapore, Port Kelang, Port Said, Valencia, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Felixstowe, Antwerp, Valencia, Port Said, Port Kelang, Singapore, Yantian, Hong Kong and Xiamen. The new service commences with the “James River Bridge” when it departs from Yantian on March 24.
The weekly Asia/Europe “AES-2” service replaces the temporary “KY Asia/Europe Integration Scheme” service started in January. The “AES-2” service uses eight 5,500-TEU vessels and has a port rotation of Kobe, Nagoya, Tokyo, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malta, Rotterdam, Felixstowe, Hamburg, Le Havre, Malta, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Kobe, Nagoya and Tokyo.
“K” Line and Yang Ming are introducing a new weekly transpacific service, the “PSW-3,” and ending the existing transpacific “ASX/CALCO-C.”
The PSW-3 operation will start with the sailing of the “Seto Bridge” on March 24 from Shanghai. The PSW-3 will use five ships of 3,500 TEUs and call at Qingdao, Shanghai, Kobe, Nagoya, Tokyo, Long Beach, Oakland, Tokyo, Nagoya, Qingdao, Shanghai and Kobe.
The weekly “PSW-2/CALCO-Y” service, previously using five vessels of 5,551 TEUs now uses five of 3,500 TEUs and will drop Yantian and Seattle as direct calls. The revised port rotation is Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Keelung, Los Angeles, Oakland, Yokohama, Keelung, Kaohsiung and Hong Kong.
Kaoshiung is dropped from the rotation of the weekly transpaciific “PNW/NOWCO-A” service. The service uses five vessels of around 2,800 TEUs and the revised rotation is Hong Kong; Kobe; Nagoya; Tokyo; Tacoma, Wash.; Vancouver, B.C.; Portland; Tokyo; Nagoya; Kobe and Hong Kong.
In February, the alliance of COSCO Container Lines, “K” Line and Yang Ming also launched their joint AUM “pendulum” service covering the Asia, U.S. East Coast and Mediterranean trades.
In a statement, Yang Ming said that, along with “K” Line, the two lines “intend to offer expanded and improved service through broader slot exchanges with both COSCON and Hanjin.”
The transit times of the all new or revised services are posted on the ComPairSchedules site at www.compairschedules.com .
