ôKö Line, Yang Ming to merge Asia/Med loops
CKYH Alliance carriers 'K' Line and Yang Ming will merge two services in the Asia/Mediterranean trade, dropping about 42,000 TEUs in annual one-way capacity from the trade.
As of Nov. 19, the weekly AMS and AMS2 loops will be harmonized into one service using seven ships of about 5,500 TEUs. The AMS loop has used six ships of about 2,000 TEUs while the AMS2 deploys seven of 4,300 TEUs.
The carriers said that all ports covered by the two services will be retained on the new combined service.
