“K” Line, Yang Ming to start Asia/Mediterranean service

   CKYH alliance partners “K” Line and Yang Ming will start a joint weekly Asia/Mediterranean service at the end of February.

   The AMS2 will deploy seven 3,500-TEU ships, with “K” Line providing five of the vessels and Yang Ming the other two. The new service will add approximately 180,000 TEUs in annual one-way capacity to the trade.

   The scheduled port rotation of the AMS2 is: Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Yantian, Singapore, Jeddah, Port Said, Genoa, Fos, Valencia, Port Said, Singapore, Hong Kong and back to Shanghai.

   Following the start of the new loop, CKYH members will offer a total of six weekly services in the Asia/Mediterranean trade.

   The CKYH alliance’s rival carrier groups, the Grand and New World alliances, will commence February their cooperation agreement in the Asia/Europe and Asia/Mediterranean markets.
