K + N strengthens ties with Alibaba

The Swiss-based third-party logistics provider signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Alibaba.com, combining its global logistics network with Alibaba’s expertise in B2B e-commerce to offer China-based shippers e-commerce logistics solutions.    Swiss-based third-party logistics provider Kuehne + Nagel (K + N) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Alibaba.com, combining its global logistics network with Alibaba’s expertise in B2B e-commerce to offer China-based shippers e-commerce logistics solutions, K + N said.
   Alibaba.com’s paid members in China have already had access to K + N’s global network for the last year. K + N’s digital solution, KN FreightNet, provides quotes, along with pickup and delivery booking services for airfreight consignments on Alibaba.com. Additionally, the e-commerce partnership has already been extended to include less-than-container-load solutions.
   “For Kuehne + Nagel, the establishment of this relationship is in line with our global strategy to digitalise logistics services in order to meet the evolving needs of customers today,” said Wong Siew Loong, president of North Asia at K + N. “We look forward to further developing this cooperation by expanding the scope of our e-commerce logistics offering to Alibaba customers in the future.”
   The future goal for the partnership is to expand its scope to include air, sea, rail and overland logistics services outside of China.
