Kane is Able has purchased seven compressed natural gas-powered trucks to operate out of its Scranton, Penn., branch.
The vehicles, which are manufactured by Volvo Trucks, will be delivered in August. According to Kane is Able officials, the trucks will be able to travel 425 miles between fuel stops and will give the 3PL a 20-percent reduction in emissions when compared to traditional trucks.
“Kane has a long-standing commitment to sustainable operations,” said the company’s chief executive officer and president, Pete Westermann, in a statement. “Volvo Trucks is an acknowledged industry leader in natural gas-powered vehicle technology. Adding these natural gas trucks to our fleet makes good fiscal and environmental sense.”
