The vessel is slated to go into service in May 2008 when it will transport LNG purchased by Kansai, mainly from the Pluto LNG project off Western Australia.
Kansai will hold a 70 percent share of the new vessel with the two other partners having 15 percent each. The owners are establishing a Bahamas-based company to act as the ship owner for when the tanker is launched.
