KB TOYS IMPLEMENTS GT NEXUS ENTERPRISE SUPPLY-CHAIN SOFTWARE    KB Toys, a mall-based and online specialty toy retailer, has implemented the “enterprise series 7” system of GT Nexus to manage all cross-border shipments in its global supply chain.
   Having selected GT Nexus in May. the retailer began to implement the company’s software in June, and the system went live in August.   
   KB Toys has purchased and deployed GT Nexus’ “orders” and “analytics” software, the global visibility, supply chain event management and performance management product lines within its enterprise series 7 system suite.
   The implementation was completed on schedule, in time to provide KB Toys with end-to-end supply chain visibility for its three month pre-Christmas peak season period, GT Nexus said.
   The project called for GT Nexus to configure and deploy a global private logistics network specifically for KB Toys and its supply chain partners, which include ocean, air and truck carriers, 3PLs, customs brokers, suppliers and its five U.S. distribution centers.
   GT Nexus collaborative supply chain applications are hosted on this private logistics network. The network serves as a global data repository and integration platform for KB Toys.
   GT Nexus said that, for retailers, timely and accurate product stock keeping unit-level visibility, combined with the ability to identify exceptions early in the supply chain and then proactively manage them to closure, is difficult, but crucial.
