Kerry opens Hanoi logistic center

Hong Kong-based Kerry Logistics has opened its third logistics center in Vietnam, the company said Wednesday.

The 10,000-square-meter facility, which begins operations in November, is located between Hanoi (Vietnam's second-largest city and capital) and its nearest port, in Haiphong. The center will focus on logistics services for the electronics and high-tech, fashion and garments, food and beverage, and industrial sectors.

Kerry also operates a 62,500-square-meter facility in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam's largest city and biggest cargo gateway, and in Da Nang, in central Vietnam.

'We have invested in developing a national logistics network in Vietnam during the last few years and the new Hanoi facility completes our coverage of the key industrial areas in North, South and Central Vietnam,' said Robert Tan, managing director of South Asia.

Kerry added the new Hanoi center has direct highway access to the city's Noi Bai International Airport and is close to the Hai Duong Inland Container Depot.
