Kerry starts massive Chongqing expansion    Hong Kong-based Kerry Logistics said Monday it has started work on a significant expansion of its Chongqing logistics center.
   Kerry will construct two four-story buildings that will provide 62,700 square meters of warehousing space, increasing the center's total space to 83,200 square meters. The project is to be completed in the first quarter 2013.
   'Chongqing is one of the fastest growing cities in western China and we have seen a rapid increase in demand for warehousing and logistics services,' said Edwardo Erni, Kerry's managing director for mainland China.
   The region, which has a population of nearly 30 million people, saw first quarter economic growth of 16.3 percent, the company said. Kerry is targeting the auto spare parts, electronics and high-tech, and telecommunications sectors to provide vendor managed inventory, pick-and-pack, labeling, and packing and repacking services.
