KIEN HUNG UPGRADES FREQUENCY OF ASIA/U.S./SOUTH AMERICA SERVICE

   Kien Hung Shipping, the Taiwanese shipping line, has added two vessels to its Asia/U.S./Central and South America “Orient Service,” increasing the sailing frequency from fortnightly to every 10 days.

   The capacities of the new vessels, the “Sea Boxer” and the “Wehr Ottensen” are 1,552 TEUs and 1,730 TEUs, respectively.

   The “Wehr Ottensen” made its first sailing on the service when it sailed from Yokohama on March 15.

   The port rotation of the Orient Service is Yokohama, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Keelung, Busan, Long Beach, Manzanillo (Mexico), Guayaquil, Callao, Iquique, Valparaiso, Talcahuano, Callao, Yokohama, Hong Kong, Kaohsiung, Keelung and Busan.

   Kien Hung will also begin an Asia/U.S. East Coast service by May with CMA CGM and China Shipping.
