Kitty Hawk Inc. has made several more changes at Kitty Hawk Cargo in an
effort to boost profitability at the former American International Freight
subsidiary of Kalitta Cos.
In June, Kitty Hawk will add a Friday flight to its scheduled domestic
freighter network to help forwarders compete against integrated carriers
for Saturday deliveries. The airline will also raise rates by 5 percent,
effective June 1.
Toby Skaar, most recently Kitty Hawk’s vice president of charter
operations, will replace Stephen Murray as vice president and general
manager of Kitty Hawk Cargo. Murray had led American International Freight for several
years before Kitty Hawk purchased Kalitta in 1997.
