KLM WILL EXPAND FREIGHT CAPACITY

KLM Cargo will expand use of the airline’s B747 combination passenger-freighter aircraft in its winter schedule beginning at the end of October.

Intercontinental B747 combi flights operated weekly will rise to 99 from 90, the airline said. The carrier will also expand its freighter operations.

B747 freighter service from Amsterdam to Osaka, Japan — operated in partnership with Nippon Cargo Airlines — will add a third weekly flight. Counting the added Osaka frequency, NCA and KLM will operate a total of 11 freighter flights weekly between Japan and the Netherlands.

KLM will increase the frequency of its B747 combi flights to New York to 13 from seven weekly. Daily combi services will also be added between Amsterdam and Mexico City, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, and Sao Paulo.
