KMZR OFFERS ENGLISH TRANSLATION OF MEXICOÆS ITA PLUS    An English language translation of Mexico’s version of the Information Technology Agreement, known as ITA Plus, is available on the Katten Muchin Zavis Rosenman Web site, at https://www.kmzr.com.
   The ITA is an international agreement signed on Sept. 4 by more than 50 countries providing duty-free treatment for a range of products used in information technology. Mexico did not sign the agreement, but in recognizing the need for a competitive electronics industry, granted immediate duty-free treatment to about 200 tariff provisions covered by the ITA. An additional 22 tariff items will be added Jan. 1, and 60 more will be effective Jan 1, 2004.
   ITA Plus also adds a number of other duty-free tariff items to Mexico’s Sector Promotion Program for the electronics industry.
