KONE signs agreement with Damco

Third party-logistics provider Damco announced it will provide ocean freight and landside services for KONE, an elevator, escalator and automatic building door solutions provider.    KONE, an elevator, escalator and automatic building door solutions provider based in Helsinki, Finland, has appointed Damco as its global logistics partner for shipping its elevators, escalators and spare parts to selected overseas destinations.
   The third-party logistics provider said in a statement it will provide ocean freight and landside services for KONE, as demand for the company’s products has increased globally.
   “KONE selected Damco amongst others because of our past delivery performance and unique global account structure,” said Damco Global Account Director Rene Fjord. “Our expertise and global footprint fits KONE’s requirements well and we have full confidence that we through our partnership can continuously assist KONE to increase the efficiency of their supply chain performance.”
   Damco, which is part of the Maersk Group, has more than 300 offices in over 100 countries worldwide.
