Kraft Heinz taps FourKites for visibility, temperature monitoring

The food and beverage giant will use FourKites’ visibility and temperature-monitoring solutions for its North American trucking, rail, and parcel shipments.    The global food and beverage maker Kraft Heinz Co. will use the supply chain visibility provider FourKites for temperature-monitoring and asset tracking across three modes in North America, the companies said in a joint statement last week.
   The relationship will see Kraft Heinz tap into FourKites’ platform, which connects more than four million GPS-connected assets to supply to its industrial and consumer customers.
   “It is critical that our products are delivered on time and transported at the right temperatures,” Larry Breisinger, head of transportation, North America, at Kraft Heinz, said in a statement. “We will use FourKites to gain unprecedented visibility into when each shipment will arrive, and be able to proactively monitor load temperatures to ensure high quality. By doing so, we will strengthen our customer relationships and optimize supply chain operations.”
   FourKites said it will provide real-time tracking and predictive arrival times by relaying GPS data on shipments moving by truck, train and parcel. Kraft Heinz is also using FourKites’ temperature tracking solution to monitor shipment temperatures in real-time.
