Krepp joins MarAd as chief counsel

   Denise Krepp is the new chief counsel for the Maritime Administration, her office confirmed.

   Krepp, a former Coast Guard lawyer, moves over from the House Homeland Security Committee where she was senior counsel to Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss.

   Krepp, who begins her new job on Tuesday, was one of several people under consideration for Maritime Administrator. Her nomination was endorsed by the Seafarers International Union.

   The White House has yet to name a new leader for MarAd. ' Eric Kulisch
