Kuehne + Nagel acquires Danish trucking firm GT Spedition

Kuehne + Nagel acquires Danish trucking firm GT Spedition    Kuehne + Nagel has taken over GT Spedition A/S, a Danish trucking and logistics company. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
   Based in Aalborg, GT Spedition has annual revenues of about DKK560 million ($92 million) and a staff of 180 employees. It provides national distribution and cross-border overland activities in Scandinavia, Western and Eastern Europe. GT Spedition also runs branch offices in Latvia, Lithuania, Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan.
   “The acquisition facilitates the expansion of Kuehne + Nagel’s road transport activities in Scandinavia and Eastern Europe as well as its industry-specific logistics services,” the Swiss forwarding and logistics group said.
   The Danish firm will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of Kuehne + Nagel A/S.
