Kuehne + Nagel buys E.M. Trans to expand Baltic overland activities    Kuehne + Nagel has taken over Estonian forwarding company E.M. Trans AS and its subsidiaries for an undisclosed amount. The deal is retroactive to Jan. 1.
   E.M. Trans is located in Tallinnis and posted revenue of 10 million euros ($12.2 million) in 2004. The company has about 40 employees, with subsidiaries in Lithuania, Latvia and Finland. Under terms of the acquisition, all E.M. Trans operations and employees will be integrated into the respective Kuehne + Nagel national companies.
   “This takeover marks a further step in our strategy to establish a Europe-wide overland network,” said Ewald Kaiser, member of Kuehne + Nagel’s management board responsible for rail and road logistics. “Integrating E.M. Trans into the group’s structure will enable us to optimize processes and take advantage of additional cross-selling potential. Furthermore, it will allow us to offer our customers full access to the Kuehne + Nagel overland network across the Baltic States,” Kaiser said.
