Kuehne + Nagel, Kintetsu World Express extend cooperation

Kuehne + Nagel, Kintetsu World Express extend cooperation    Switzerland-based Kuehne + Nagel and Tokyo-based Kintetsu World Express have decided to expand the geographical reach and scope of services of their cooperation, after seeing what they described as “encouraging results” obtained by joining forces in Latin America.
   Since October, Kuehne + Nagel has been acting as the Japanese forwarder’s exclusive handling agent in Latin America for both sea and air freight, as well as for customs clearance. Under the original cooperation agreement, Kintetsu World Express has continued to handle sales and marketing activities for the Japanese company's activities in this region.
   Under the extended cooperation now decided upon, the partners will jointly offer their services in markets of the Middle and Far East.
   “Besides global sea and air freight, the service offering will include contract logistics, project transport activities and supply chain management solutions,” Kuehne + Nagel said. Furthermore, Kuehne + Nagel will act as Kintetsu World Express’s non-vessel-operating common carrier for less-than-container load shipments. Both forwarders will also plan capacity jointly on key air freight routes.
