Kuehne + Nagel managing second DC for Danone in Poland

Danone Sp. z o.o. has awarded Swiss logistics company Kuehne + Nagel a contract to operate its new distribution center for fresh dairy products in Chorz'w in the south of Poland.

Kuehne + Nagel already manages Danone’s central and north Poland distribution center in Blonie, near Warsaw.

The logistics firm now manages a 4,000-square meter warehouse Danone leased in the ProLogis Park in Chorz'w, which opened in April.

Under terms of the latest deal, Kuehne + Nagel provides goods receiving services, storage, picking, co-packing and just-in-time order preparation according to Danone distribution schedules. By the end of this year, operations in the chilled warehouse in Chorz'w will be additionally supported by voice-picking technology.

Kuehne + Nagel Inc has also signed a five-year lease for a 443,803-square-foot building in Cranbury, N.J., near the New Jersey Turnpike.

Kuehne + Nagel will lease the building from a joint venture of Atlanta developer IDI and Rockefeller Group Development Corp. The building is located in Rockefeller Group’s Foreign Trade Zone 8A.

Kuehne + Nagel will occupy 213,299 square feet in May and an additional 230,404 square feet in September.
