KUEHNE & NAGEL NAMES TWO U.S.-BASED VICE PRESIDENTS

The Kuehne & Nagel Group, a Swiss freight forwarding and contract logistics provider, has appointed John Lebowitz as vice president of global business development, high tech, and Volker Schulz as vice president of global business development, healthcare.

Both will report to Jim Bierfeldt, USCO Logistics’ vice president of sales and marketing, and to Dr. Dieter Bambauer, Kuehne & Nagel’s senior vice president of contract logistics in Europe. Lebowitz will be based in Nashville, Tenn.; Schulz will have his office in Atlanta.

Robert R. Auray Jr., president and chief executive officer of USCO Logistics, called the appointments “a step forward in the integration of Kuehne & Nagel and USCO Logistics.” K&N acquired USCO last year.

Lebowitz was vice president of global logistics for Nortel Networks. Schulz had been vice president of business development for e-services at USCO Logistics, which is based in Hamden, Conn.
